My working style
Make team decisions
Several factors help me make writing decisions: research, data, usability testing, peer design reviews and critiques, stakeholder input, and more. I thrive on gathering feedback and value other perspectives.
I can create usability test plans and observe how people react to my messaging, instructions, labels, etc. When I watch usability sessions, I’m a diligent note-taker and take people’s opinions seriously. Listening closely to user feedback is key to understanding what content works and what doesn’t.
Test content when possible
Figma has made content design and UX writing so much more efficient. Real-time wireframing and prototyping help me quickly relay ideas that bring content to life.
I’m not sure how I got stuff done without it…

Be a mentor
Whether it’s Product, Engineering, Design, Legal, or Leadership—I enjoy cross-collaboration and explaining the rationale behind my content decisions. By documenting or explaining my approach, I ensure that stakeholders feel confident and aligned with our design direction.
I also mentor people who want to transition into UX content design and writing. I’ve spoken at Denver-area content strategy meetups, and I regularly chat with people who want to break into the content design discipline.
I write clear and helpful content that sounds conversational and human. I write with all people in mind since every word counts and everyone matters. Those with cognitive, educational, and other physical challenges are at the top of my mind.
